Welding bead /fillet measurement

Adjustable Fillet Weld Gauge / AWS Type Gauge Standard or Metric

Least Count of

 What is least count?
In simple words, it is the minimum measurement that can be taken by that instrument.

Techanically,
Least Count = S/N

Metric Vernier   Caliper = 0.01mm
..Digital Vernier Caliper = 0.02mm
..Dial Vernier Caliper = 0.02mm

Metric Micrometer = 0.01mm
..Digital Micrometer=0.02mm

Scratch Measurment

scratch can be measured using digital pit depth gauge
or Digital Optical Micrometer Kit

How to measure roughness

We usually measure roughness in microns or nano microns

we use to measure roughness by following parameter
Ra=Average roughness
Rmax= Maximum Roughness
Rrms=Root mean square Roughness

Instrument to be used = Surface Roughness tester/Profilometer

More the Ra more smooth is the surface.

How many microns are in 1mm and m

1mm =1000 micron
1micron=  .001mm

1m =10^-6 micron
1micron =10^6 m

1m=100cm

Useful result:
100 micron = .1mm

What is Quality?

What is Quality?

The standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something: "quality of life".
Quality is the universal concept which describes if the goods and services offered by the supplier meet our expectations concerning the characteristics of the product or service.
